No less than 90 police constables have received training in long-distance combat in order to keep them fit and powerful in their roles of complementing crime combating.
For three weeks, the students were stationed at 52 PMF, Challawa Base Squadron, Kano, where they received intensive instruction in extended combat.
Mr Mohammed Usaini Gumel, the Kano Commissioner of Police, congratulated the trainees and asked them to put what they learned during the exercise into practise.
The police chief charged them with keeping dedicated to professionalism and selfless service.
CP Gumel thanked the invited visitors for making time to attend the newly mobilised officers’ passing out ceremony.
In addition, he observed certain projects undertaken by philanthropists and police friends within the premises of the 52 PMF Base Squadron Headquarters in Challawa.
A reconstructed road network, a well-equipped Clinic with 30 beds, three Consultation Rooms, a theatre room, a labour room, Amenity Wards, an accident and emergency unit, a pharmacy, eateries, and remodeled Administrative Blocks are among the projects. Alhaji Aminu Ahmad (TIAMIN RICE), a well-known philanthropist, spearheaded all of these initiatives. The police chief praised the philanthropists and called their actions as admirable.
He also urged other benefactors in the state to contribute generously to the growth and development of the Nigeria Police Force.
“The Nigeria Police Force under the able leadership of the Inspector-General Police, Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM is committed to training and retraining of Police Personnel.
“Kano State Police Command under my watch will continue to ensure that Police Officers will periodically be receiving the best of training to meet the demands of the good people of the State by ensuring that the safety and well-being of everyone are guaranteed.
“I therefore charged you to utilize the training received and use it to enhance better service delivery accordingly to the laid down ethics of the Force and in line with international best practices.”
In his welcome address, the Commanding Officer, No. 52 PMF Kano, ACP Danlami Yusuf stated that, “during the three weeks of regimental local training, these 90 Police Personnel of the Kano State Police Command were rigorously trained in weapon handling, musketry, crowd control, care and custody of firearms, obstacles crossing, principles of marksmanship, combat maneuvers and other Operational tactics.
“They were also lectured on Human Rights, the Code of Conduct for Police Officers, use of force by law Enforcement Officers, Discipline General, etc.”
